Hanover, N.H. - The Harvard men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships as the women's team won their second conference title in a row and the men's team placed second. Harvard added 13 more individual event champions to their three from Saturday.
The Harvard women's team finished first with 177 points ahead of Princeton with 151.5, Penn with 90.5 and Columbia with 53.55 to make up the top half. The men's team finished in second with 163 points, just one point behind Princeton's 164.
Stephanie Ratcliffe and Kenneth Ikeji were named Ivy League Most Valuable Field athletes for the women's and men's teams, respectively while Maia Ramsden was named Ivy League Women's Most Valuable Track Athlete.
After two days of competition, Harvard won the individual or relay titles in 16 events, with eight gold medals coming from the women's team and eight from the men's.
Harvard Highlights
- Ikeji started the day with a gold medal in the men's weight throw for Harvard, throwing 22.66m (74' 4.25") to win the event. This throw shattered his previous school record and moves him up to sixth in the nation with a NCAA Indoor Championships qualifying mark. All of his throws came in over 22.33m, further than his previous personal record and further than anyone else in the competition.
- Ratcliffe threw a new Ivy League and school record conference winning mark of 21.88m (71' 9.50") in the women's weight throw. With the win in this event, Harvard brought home gold medals for every throwing event. Following Ratcliffe, the Crimson swept the podium as Estel Valeanu took silver and Cara Salsberry took bronze with all three setting new personal bests. Cammy Garabian earned points for the Crimson as well in sixth place.
- Ramsden won the mile run at the conference championship with a time of 4:44.89. She came back to win the 1000m run in 2:44.96 later in the day to bring home two Ivy League individual gold medals.
- Graham Blanks and Acer Iverson led the pack in another distance race, with Blanks winning the 5000m run in 13:53.50 and Iverson taking silver in 13:54.35.
- The Crimson took gold and silver in the men's 400m dash, with Gregory Lapit winning in 47.92 and Aaron Shirley taking second in 47.96 as the only two runners to break 48 seconds.
- Victoria Bossong, the current school record holder in the 500m run, stayed in control of the race for two and a half laps to win a back to back Ivy League title in 1:12.08.
- First-year Chloe Fair had an impressive first conference meet with the Crimson, winning the 400m dash with a time of 54.00.
- Tina Martin defended her title in the 200m dash, sprinting around the track in 24.16. Fair joined her on the podium in second place in 24.32.
- Sam Bennett crossed the finish line in first in the men's 60m hurdles, winning with a time of 7.85, just .01 off his personal best and school record.
- Daniel Falode has stayed undefeated in the triple jump in his Crimson career as he leapt 15.53m (50' 11.50") in the event to win his third conference title.
- The men's 4x400m relay team of Lapit, Shirley, Max Serrano-Wu and Ward won the final men's event in a time of 3:11.59.
- The women's 4x400m relay team of Bossong, Izzy Goudros, Fair and Mfoniso Andrew finished the day with a win in the relay in 3:40.69.
- Izzy Goudros set a new personal best of 8.45 in the 60m hurdles to take second place and jump up to number five on the Harvard top-ten list.
- The Harvard men went 2-3-4-6 in the 60m dash to score 20 points in the event, led by Jonas Clarke in second (6.78), Collin Fuller in third (6.801), Lance Ward in fourth (6.805) and Jaeschel Acheampong in sixth (6.84).
- Tina Martin and Goudros took second and third in the women's 60m dash with times of 7.48 and 7.51, respectively.
- The women's distance medley relay of Isabelle Goldstein, Jacklynn Okereke, Marianne Mihas and Penelope Salmon took second in the relay with a time of 11:28.64.
- Vivien Henz took third place in the men's mile, running 4:04.19.
- Harvard record holder Lance Ward earned a bronze medal in the 200m dash in 21.55.

Harvard will send athletes to compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championship meet from March 4-5. Athletes qualifying in the top-16 in the nation will then move on to compete at the NCAA Championship meet March 11-12.
