"We're knocking on the door for sure." Coach Weiss said on Sunday. "I'm proud of our guys. We went out with 4 guys and that was the most we have qualified since 2012. I truly feel all four are capable of placing but if you have ever wrestled in that tournament before, you know it's a grind."
"Our guys are better from the experience." He continued. "Out of the group who went, only Phil had experienced it before. Now they know with 3 out of the 4 coming back next year. I think they all know they can compete at that level, and they bring that experience back to their teammates."
"In wrestling, we either live with the 'pain of discipline or the pain of regret' but we figure out the balance along the way. We either win or we get better, so now it's time to refocus on our next climb. We made some changes that helped but most importantly we have the right men in place to continue to progress. "
