Cambridge, Mass. - The Harvard Softball team (18-11-1, 9-3 Ivy) will play host to the Yale Bulldogs (15-15, 7-5 Ivy) in a three-game series this weekend. Friday will feature a single game with starting at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday will be a doubleheader with games at 12:30 and 3 p.m. The games will be streamed on ESPN+.
Saturday's doubleheader will serve as the Crimson's featured Bark at the Park event. Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to enjoy a day at the park for one of Harvard Athletics' furriest events! On top of several dog-focused local businesses joining us this year, all attending pets receive a free custom Harvard giveaway. The game will also Celebrate 50 years of Title IX and serve as the team's Pride Game.
What to Know
• Harvard softball has won three Ivy League series so far this season, sweeping Penn and Brown and most recently topping Dartmouth 2-1 in a three-game series on the road. The Crimson won games with scores of 10-4 and 6-2 in Hanover.
• The Crimson most recently traveled to Boston University on Tuesday, falling just short of a win in game one as the Terriers won 5-4 in eight innings then falling 1-3 in game two after five innings as the game was cut short due to fading daylight.
• For the third time this season, catcher
Allison Heffley of Lemoore, Calif. was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for her efforts in the Crimson's series win at Dartmouth, the league announced on Monday. Throughout the weekend, she had a .529 batting average with 17 at bats that included 2 runs from nine hits. Her hits resulted in three doubles, a triple and three RBI. In the field, Heffley was number one defensively with the most chances, putouts and assists altogether with no errors and no passed balls.
• Harvard leads Yale in the all-time series, 77-24. In the Crimson and Bulldogs' three-game series in 2022, Harvard won the first two games and fell in the final one. The Crimson's wins were with scores of 3-1 and 1-0.
• Yale is coming off a sweep of the Penn Quakers in their most recent Ivy League matchup and are set to play at Hartford on Wednesday, April 12.
