Radcliffe Lightweight Rowing Ready for Knecht Cup

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 6 Radcliffe lightweight women's rowing heads to Cherry Hill, N.J. this weekend for the Knecht Cup. The two-day regatta will see the Black and White race on Saturday for a chance to advance to Sunday's finals.

What to Know

  • Radcliffe checks in at No. 6 on the Week 1 Women's Lightweight Varsity Eight poll. 
  • The Black and White are set to compete in six events on Saturday including lightweight 8+, lightweight 4+, varsity 1x varsity 2x, varsity 8+, and varsity 4+. 
  • Radcliffe will compete against MIT, Thomas Jefferson, Gordon, Boston University, and Brynn Mwar in the women's double event. Racing will start at 7:30 a.m. with the winner and the three fastest times to the final on Sunday. 
  • The Black and White will race TCNJ, MIT, Layfette, and Connecticut in the women's varsity four with first place and the next three fastest times to the Grand Final and the next six fastest times to the Petite Final. 
  • Radcliffe will also compete in the women's single event against La Salle and Gordon at 7:38 a.m. 
  • In the women's lightweight four Radcliffe will race Boston University A & B, Iona, and MIT at 8:18 a.m. 
  • The rest of the matchups are yet to be determined. 
  • Last year Radcliffe came away with a victory in the lightweight 4+, placed second in the lightweight 8+, and fourth in the 2x. 

Next Up 

Radcliffe will compete in day two of the Knecht Cup on Sunday with racing starting early Sunday morning. Streaming is available on the Knecht Cup YouTube channel.
