Women's Lightweight Rowing

Season Recap: 2025 Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweights

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The 2025 season marked the beginning of a new chapter for Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight Rowing, as Stacey Apfelbaum took the helm in her first year as head coach. Building on last year's bronze medal at the IRA National Championships, the Black and White entered the season with a renewed sense of purpose and the ambition to rise even higher.

The spring began with a solid win over Georgetown, setting the tone for what would become a season defined by consistency and resilience. At the Knecht Cup, Radcliffe turned in a strong overall performance, claiming first-place finishes in both the women's double and novice four, a runner-up spot in the lightweight eight, and third in the lightweight four—demonstrating promise across the full roster.

The team carried that momentum into the Eastern Sprints, where they delivered one of their most well-rounded showings in recent years. The varsity eight and four A each earned silver medals, the four B claimed bronze, and the varsity double placed sixth—solidifying Radcliffe's presence among the top crews in the league.

At the IRA National Championships, the Black and White closed the year with poise and determination. The varsity double took the win in Final 2, placing seventh overall, while the varsity four earned a bronze medal in the A final. The varsity eight capped off the season with a hard-fought silver in the grand final, marking the program's second consecutive podium finish in the premier event.

With a strong first year under new leadership and depth evident across all boats, Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight Rowing ends 2025 with pride—and momentum to carry into the seasons ahead.
