Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweights Earn 2025 CRCA Coaching Staff of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) has announced that the Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight rowing coaching staff has been named the 2025 Coaching Staff of the Year.

Leading the team is Stacey Apfelbaum, the David K. Richards '61 Family Head Coach for Radcliffe Lightweight Crew, who completed her first full season at the helm. After serving as an assistant coach last year, Apfelbaum brought valuable continuity and leadership to the program. Under her guidance, the team delivered one of its strongest performances in recent memory—earning silver and bronze medals at the IRA National Championships.

Joining Apfelbaum this season were assistant coaches John Lindberg and Julia Walters, both of whom played an integral role in the team's success. Their collective efforts and year-round dedication brought depth, energy, and expertise to the staff.

"We are so fortunate to have a great staff at Radcliffe Lights and could not have found the success we did this spring without everyone working together. John and Julia and I truly are a team and combine our talents to support our athletes to reach their goals. Working with them has been a true privilege." – Stacey Apfelbaum, Head Coach

This marks the first time since 2014 that Harvard-Radcliffe lightweights have earned this prestigious CRCA honor.
