CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball travels to play at Northeastern University in the semifinals of The Baseball Beanpot at Friedman Diamond in Brookline, Massachusetts on Tuesday, Apr. 4 at 3:00 p.m. (FloBaseball) as the Crimson enters the contest with a 5-2 record in its last seven games.

- The Crimson (7-16, 4-2 Ivy) squares off with the Huskies (22-4, 6-3 CAA) coming off a successful return to the Northeast. Harvard has posted a 5-2 record in its last seven games, won both of its Ivy series to start conference play (2-1 against both Penn and Princeton), and notched a 3-1 record at home at O'Donnell Field.
- Against Northeastern, Harvard is set to start RHP Will Jacobsen (0-2, 9.77 ERA). The Huskies will counter with RHP Jake Gigliotti (4-0, 3.76 ERA).
- Harvard leads the all-time series with Northeastern, 68-46-1. The two teams first met in 1921. Last season, the Crimson fell to the Huskies in the consolation game of The Baseball Beanpot, 10-6.
- Harvard has won five Beanpot titles all-time including in 1991, 1998 (co), 2005, 2014, and 2018. The tournament began in 1990. The Crimson has posted a 19-36-1 record all-time in the tournament, including a 13-17 record in the semifinals and a 6-10 mark against Northeastern.
- In its first home Ivy series of the season, Harvard swept a Sunday doubleheader from Princeton to gain a 2-1 series win over the Tigers. The Crimson won games two (11-8) and three (9-6) of the series to take the set. Harvard totaled 29 runs, 27 hits, and 22 walks over the course of the three-game series.
- In Harvard's home opener, Crimson relievers combined to allow just one run over 6.2 innings, and senior Hunter Baldwin and first-year Gio Colasante each drove in two runs as Harvard beat Holy Cross, 6-5, at O'Donnell Field on Mar. 28.
- In its Ivy League opening series, Harvard earned a 2-1 road series win over Penn in Philadelphia. The Crimson captured the series opener, 3-2, in 10 innings before claiming a 7-3 decision in the series finale. Junior Jake Berger and senior Logan Bravo each hit home runs in the opener before sophomore Sean Matson and first-year Callan Fang combined to limit the Quakers to three runs in the finale.
- Harvard ranks eighth in the NCAA in doubles per game (2.57) as a team while junior Peter Messervy stands 23rd in the nation in doubles per game (0.48) as an individual. Messervy leads the Ivy League with 11 doubles. Harvard has hit at least two doubles in 19 of 23 games this year and knocked a season-high six in game two vs. FIU (Mar. 4).
- As a team, Harvard leads the Ivy League in doubles (59), stands second in runs (203), and ranks third in hits (218), home runs (23), and RBIs (126). The Crimson has tallied double-figure runs in four games and double-figure hits in nine games in 2023.
- Junior Jake Berger leads Harvard with a .321 batting average alongside 27 hits, 13 runs, six doubles, and three home runs. In Ivy only play, he stands third in the conference in average (.476), third in OBP (.571), fourth in OPS (1.333), and second in RBIs (nine). He hit a key two-run home run in the Crimson's 3-2 win in 10 innings in game one at Penn (Mar. 24). Berger notched four hits in game two vs. Princeton (Apr. 4).
- Sophomore George Cooper ranks second on the Crimson with a .315 batting average, while ranking eighth in the Ivy League in doubles (eight). He tallied a season-high four hits in game two at FIU (Mar. 4). Cooper went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a triple, and a double in game three at Penn (Mar. 26).
- Junior Ben Rounds has posted a .286 batting average, 24 hits, 18 runs, six doubles, five home runs, and 19 RBIs. He stands fourth  in the Ancient Eight in home runs (five), sixth in walks (14), and 10th in slugging (.536). In Ivy only play, he leads the conference in walks (nine) and stands third in runs (nine). Rounds notched a season-best four hits in game three at FAU (Mar. 12).
- Junior Peter Messervy leads the Ivy League with 11 doubles and ranks 23rd in the NCAA with 0.48 doubles per game. Messervy stands second in the conference in walks (17). He has hit .267 with 23 hits, 18 runs, and nine RBIs.
- Senior Logan Bravo has notched a .300 average with 27 hits, 20 runs, seven doubles, three homers, and 12 RBIs. In Ivy only play, he has hit .375 with two doubles, two homers, and six RBIs. He tallied three two-hit games in the Texas A&M-CC series (Mar. 16-18) before a 3-for-5 effort with the go-ahead home run in the 10th inning in the series opener with Penn (Mar. 24).
- Junior right-handed pitcher Chris Clark ranks 15th in the NCAA in strikeouts per nine innings (13.94), while ranking first in the Ivy League in strikeouts (48). He has tallied seven or more strikeouts in five of his six starts in 2023. Clark has registered 48 strikeouts over 31.0 innings pitched on the season. In Ivy play, he has posted 18 strikeouts over 12.0 innings alongside a 3.75 ERA.
- Junior right-handed pitcher Jay Driver ranks fifth in the Ivy League in strikeouts (36) and has notched a 4.88 ERA, throwing 31.1 innings on the year. He has posted six or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts.
