CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two Crimson fencers,
Jonas Hansen and
Lauren Scruggs, competed in the international competitions over the weekend.
The junior captain, Hansen, placed 14
th out of 211 competitors in the men's epee competition in the Grand Prix in Cali, Colombia, his career best World Cup finish. The event was also the first competition for the men's epee 2024 Paris Olympics qualification process.
Competing in the women's foil event in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, the sophomore, Scruggs, finished 22
nd in the individual competition and earned a bronze medal in the team event. The event, however, does not count towards Olympic qualification.

Harvard Fencing will have a record number of individuals at the World Championships. So far, five Harvard Fencing Team fencers have earned qualification points for the 2024 Olympic Team selection which is also the most in team history.
