HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Harvard Men's Heavyweight Rowing's two entries both fell short in their respective races on Friday at the Henley Royal Regatta. The Crimson was edged by three-quarter lengths in The Temple Challenge Cup (M8+) and was defeated by 2-and-three-quarter lengths in The Visitors' Challenge Cup (M4-).
The Harvard eight boat of

Patrick Adams '23,
Leo Bessler,
Alexander Sullivan,
Alexander Grundy and
Josh Brangan took the water against Oxford Brookes University 'A' and
nearly moved on to the semifinals, but fell short in its bid. Oxford Brookes finished the competition in 6:35.
The Crimson also suffered the same fate to Oxford Brookes University in
The Visitors' Challenge Cup.

Kenny Coplan '23 were unable to overcome their foe as Oxford Brookes crossed the finish line in 7:35.

Douwe de Graaf '23 and
Calvin Tarczy '23, competing for Leander Club, helped their boat beat Syracuse by three-quarter lengths (6:57).
Recent graduate,
Victor Kleshnev '23, joined B.J. Ellery, representing Leander Club, in
The Double Sculls Challenge Cup (M2x). The duo ended up defeating D.D. Van Velden and H.L.M. Lycklama of Princeton by 1-and-a-half lengths (7:51).
Harvard also was represented in The Ladies' Challenge Plate (M8+), The Prince Albert Challenge Cup (M4+) and The Britannia Challenge Cup (M4+).
Simon Nunayon and Leander Club lost to Oxford Brookes University 'A' by 1-and-a-half lengths (6:44) in the
Ladies' race.
Cameron McInroy '23,
Henry Bellew '23 and
Cate Engles (Adams House) lost to Oxford Brookes University by 2-and-one-quarter lengths (7:24) in the
Prince Albert competition. James Clarke '19, meanwhile, fell to Thames Rowing Club 'A' by three-quarter lengths (7:16) in the
Britannia.
