Men's Heavyweight Rowing Competes for Adams Cup

No. 4 Harvard in Philadelphia to race Penn, Navy.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- No. 4 Harvard men's heavyweight rowing hits the road this weekend for the Adams Cup in Philadelphia against Penn and Navy on Saturday morning. HUBC will race five boats on the Schuylkill River beginning at 8:45 a.m.

The Adams Cup
• Saturday marks the 88th Adams Cup race, which dates back to a Harvard victory in 1928.
• All-time, Harvard has won 60 Adams Cups, including every race completed since 2001.
• Penn last won the Adams Cup in 1999 and Navy last won in 1987.
• Heading into this week, Harvard dropped one spot to No. 3 in the IRCA/IRA Coaches Poll following a narrow defeat to Princeton. Penn is currently ranked No. 8 after wins over Yale and Columbia, while Navy is No. 15 following a race at Cornell.
• HUBC's varsity eight features the same boat lineup that raced together in the season-opening Sarasota Invitational (Mar. 27-28) and recorded a pair of second-place finishes. Harvard's 2V and 3V boats, both of which downed Princeton, remain unchanged from a week ago.
