CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2022-23 Harvard Softball team has posted the No. 5 GPA in Division I this year with a cumulative GPA of 3.74, per the NFCA. The team also earned 21 individual scholar-athlete honors.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association is composed of member coaches from collegiate, high school and junior softball teams. Of the 150 Division I coaches who submitted for the NCAA DI GPA award, the Harvard Softball team reported the fifth highest cumulative GPA. The top ten GPA's of NCAA DI teams are listed below:
1. Georgia State - 3.830; 2. Illinois State - 3.766; 3. Southern Illinois at Carbondale - 3.763; 4. Northern Illinois - 3.753; 5. Harvard - 3.740; 6. University of Toledo - 3.732; 7. Florida Gulf Coast - 3.730; 8. Eastern Illinois - 3.725; 9. Bucknell - 3.710; 10. University of Nebraska Omaha - 3.699
In addition, 21 Harvard athletes received individual NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors. To qualify for this distinction athletes must have maintained at least a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the 2022-23 academic year.
