CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's and women's fencing opens the 2023-24 season from Nov. 4-5 at the Air Force Invitational and takes part in a series of competitive regular season meets prior to a postseason run that includes the Ivy League Round-Robins, NCAA Regionals, and NCAA Championships as part of its 2023-24 schedule.
Harvard opens the 2023-24 campaign in Colorado with the Air Force Western Invitational from Nov. 4-5.
The Crimson will then return to the East Coast for invitationals at the University of Pennsylvania and at Sacred Heart University on Nov. 11 and Dec. 3, respectively.
Harvard will compete away at St. John's on Jan. 20 and will hold a home meet against New York University on Jan. 27.
The postseason commences for Harvard at the Ivy League Round-Robins, which will be held in New York City at Columbia, from Feb. 10-11.
The NCAA Regionals, taking place on Mar. 10, will be hosted by Long Island University, and the NCAA Championships will be hosted by Ohio State University from Mar. 21-24.
Both the men and the women had a successful 2022-23 season, in which both teams qualified seven fencers at NCAA Northeast Regionals, and the Crimson then finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.
On the men's side,
Jonas Hansen earned an NCAA national championship in men's epee, and for the women,
Lauren Scruggs was crowned the NCAA national champion in women's foil.
The Crimson men and women had a total of four first-team All-Americans last season in Hansen, Scruggs,
Emily Vermeule and
Elizabeth Tartakovsky. Both teams look to continue their success this upcoming season.
