CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off its biggest win of the season, No. 11 men's water polo returns to Cambridge for the first time since Sept. 8 as it welcomes Brown and MIT for a pair of games at Blodgett Pool.
Starting with an NWPC matchup with rival Brown at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, the Crimson will host MIT on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The game against Brown will stream on ESPN+ while the game against MIT is available on both NESN and ESPN+ for the first time in program history.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Harvard sits atop the NWPC conference standings after beginning conference play with a trio of wins against LIU, Iona, and No. 7 Princeton.
- Beginning with a 24-12 win over LIU, Harvard took the Saturday doubleheader after a 13-7 win over Iona in the late game.
- The Crimson picked up a massive win over No. 7 Princeton in Sudden Death on Sunday after Dean Strauser scored the game-winning goal.
- Strauser finished the day with seven goals in the career day for the first-year.
- It marks the second time in as many seasons that the Crimson has defeated the nationally ranked Tigers in the sudden death period.
- Strauser joined Tanner Furtak and James Rozolis-Hill as NWPC Players of the Week after the Crimson swept the weekly awards. Rozolis-Hill won NWPC Player of the Week after another dominant weekend. Tanner Furtak pikced up his first NWPC Defensive Player of the Week nod after backstopping the Crimson in the overtime thriller against Princeton. Strauser won his first Rookie of the Week award after a seven-goal performance.
- James Rozolis-Hill now sits only two goals away from breaking the all-time program record. The junior who has 49 goals in 12 games this season will become the all-time leader after just 72 career games.
- Harvard defeated both MIT and Brown last season – picking up two wins against MIT and three wins against Brown.
- Harvard beat Brown in the semi-finals last season of the NWPC playoffs.
