Men's Water Polo Set to Host Harvard Invite This Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 12 men's water polo looks to extend its eight-game win streak as it will host the Harvard Invite this weekend as part of a 12-game weekend at Blodgett Pool. Taking part in four games over Saturday and Sunday, the Crimson will play Chapman at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday before finishing the day with San Jose at 3:00 p.m. 
 
Harvard will then play Bucknell at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday before wrapping up the homestand with Wagner at 5:00 p.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+ for the duration of the tournament. 
 
Harvard looks to continue the win streak as it sits at 12-2 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in NWPC Play. 
 
WHAT TO KNOW 
  • For the third year in a row, James Rozolis-Hill has been named to the Cutino Award Watch list. 
  • One of 20 athletes on the list, Rozolis-Hill is up for the Peter J. Cutino Award, which is named for the late hall-of-fame coach and recognizes the best player in men's and women's college water polo. This marks the third straight season he has appeared on the prestigious list, which was created in 2022, to help promote the college game, awareness of the honor, and the excellent play of athletes around the country.
  • James Rozolis-Hill and Dean Strauser picked up their second consecutive NWPC Weekly honors after Rozolis-Hill won Player of the Week while Strauser took home a rookie nod. 
  • Rozolis-Hill is up to three weekly honors on the season while Strauser has won two. 
  • Rozolis-Hill broke the all-time goal record last weekend after netting the tying and go-ahead goal in the game against Brown. The junior would go on to net seven goals in the game. 
  • Netting 21 goals against the Engineers on Sunday, Harvard has scored 20 or more goals for the third time this season and the third time in its last five games. 
  • Harvard went a perfect 4-0 in the Harvard Invite last season including a 14-12 win over Wagner. 
  • Dating back to Oct. 1 of last season the Crimson has a 30-3 record with its only losses coming to No. 6 Princeton, No. 6 Pacific, and No. 15 Fordham. 
  • Harvard defeated both Bucknell and Wagner in the first two games of the season in September as it looks to complete the season sweep.
