CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard cross country continues its postseason journey in Hopkinton, New Hampshire on Friday, Nov. 15, as the Crimson look to punch its ticket to the NCAA Championships at the NCAA Northeast Regionals. The meet begins at 11 a.m. with the women's 6k race, followed by the men's 10k race at noon at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds Cross Country Course.
The top two teams at each NCAA regional will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, along with 13 at-large selections.
CRIMSON UPDATES:
- In its last competition, both Crimson squads orchestrated strong performances at the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships.
- For the first time since the 1960s, a men's Crimson runner won back-to-back Ivy League Cross Country Championships, as senior Graham Blanks took home the individual Ivy League title in Princeton.
- Along with Blanks, senior Ben Rosa, junior Shane Brosnan, and sophomore Sam Burgess all earned All-Ivy League honors as well.
- Junior Molly Malague and Penelope Salmon led the Crimson's scoring efforts in the women's race, as the duo finished in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Senior Ellaney Matarese and Ella Gilson earned All-Ivy League Second Team honors.
- The latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association's Regional Rankings has both Crimson squads in the top four of the northeast region.
- The men check in at No. 3 in the northeast, while the women hold the No. 4 spot. The USTFCCA National Coaches Poll also has the men at the No. 20 spot, as the Crimson have spent every week of the season in the top-25 of the national coaches poll.
- At last season's NCAA Northeast Regional, the Crimson men earned an automatic bid at Van Cortlandt Park with a second place finish, as the women were at-large selection with a fourth place finish.
