CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving returns to action this week with a two-day meet at Cornell with Dartmouth. The Crimson will open Friday's competition at 3 p.m. ET, before returning to Teagle Pool on Saturday for a 2 p.m. ET start.
What to Know
- Harvard opened its campaign on Nov. 1, when it defeated Brown on the road, 164-136. A day later at its home opener and Breast Cancer Awareness Meet, the Crimson welcomed Boston College to Blodgett Pool and downed the Eagles, 213-87.
- In the victory over the Bears, Harvard won nine events with Alexandra Bastone (500 free, 1,000 free), Sydney Lu (100 free, 100 fly) and Stephanie Iannaccone (200 breast, 200 IM) each winning a pair of individual events. Bastone was also a part of the Crimson's victorious 400 free relay team.
- Harvard dominated in its dual meet with Boston College, securing wins in 14 of 16 events. The Crimson improved to 12-4 all-time vs. the Eagles and has now won 12 straight meetings vs. its cross-town foe. Harvard swept the relays (200 medley, 200 free) and was paced by double-winners Molly Hamlin (100 free, 200 free), Mandy Brenner (50 free, 100 fly) and Elizabeth Miclau (1-meter diving, 3-meter diving).
- The Crimson enters this week's action looking for its first 4-0 start to a season since the 2022-23 squad won its first six dual meets. Harvard also opened the 2021-22 campaign 6-0.
- Harvard will head to Ithaca, New York, looking to avenge its 152-148 home loss to the Big Red from a year ago. Despite the setback, the Crimson still holds a 37-2 all-time advantage over Cornell and is 15-0 in Ithaca.
- Cornell is 2-0 this season and is coming off a 160-79 road win at St. Bonaventure on Saturday. The Big Red opened its season with a 153-90 decision at Binghamton on Friday.
- The Crimson will face a Dartmouth program it is 43-3 all-time against. Last season at Blodgett Pool, Harvard earned a 158-142 victory to capture its 41st straight win over the Big Green.
- Dartmouth will come into this week's meet with an 0-2 record after it began its season with a 244-60 loss at Princeton and a 234-66 defeat to Brown (also at Princeton) on Saturday.
