ITHACA, N.Y. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving's
Adam Wesson set the new program record for 1-meter diving on Friday in the Crimson's season-opening meet at Cornell with Dartmouth. The senior won the event with a 6-dive score of 398.65.
A native of Morgan Hill, California, Wesson cruised to the school record and overall victory, finishing easily ahead of runner-up Soodong Kim of Cornell.
Raphael Tourette finished in third place (300.60), with
Will Sullivan coming in fifth (288.15).
Jack Holland, meanwhile, recorded a score of 246.00 to finish in ninth place.
The day was an overall success for Wesson, who also won the 3-meter event with a score of 371.45. Kim was again in second, posting a 352.90, and finishing ahead of Holland (3
rd, 326.40) and Tourette (4
th, 308.35). Sullivan placed ninth (245.80) in the 10-athlete field.
Harvard returns to Teagle Pool on Saturday as the swimming events take the spotlight. The action is scheduled for a 10 a.m. ET start.
