CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving returns to action on Friday afternoon when it plays host to Columbia for its Pride Meet. The action at Blodgett Pool is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN+ handling broadcast duties.
What to Know
- The Crimson is 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Ivy League after sweeping Cornell and Dartmouth last Friday-Saturday in Ithaca, New York. Harvard earned a 176.50-123.50 decision over the Big Red and pocketed a 165-135 win against the Big Green.
- Both diving events took place on Friday, with Remi Edvalson winning on both boards. The senior emerged victorious on the 1-meter board, posting a score of 298.45, and recorded the same result at three meters with a 289.70 performance.
- On its second day in Ithaca, Harvard received solid performances from Alexandra Bastone, Molly Hamlin, Stephanie Iannaccone and Gabriella Augustyn.
- Bastone set the Teagle Pool record in the 500 free with a winning time of 4:50.33. The sophomore also won the 1,000 free by nearly 10 seconds, logging a time of 10:02.89.
- Hamlin won the 200 back (1:58.84) and was second in the 100 version (55.35), while swimming the opening leg of the victorious 400 free relay (3:24.11). The senior was joined by Mandy Brenner, Kaylee McDonald and Bastone.
- Iannaccone finished atop the leaderboard in the 200 IM, winning the event in 2:03.61, and came in second place to Augustyn (2:17.41) in the 200 breast with a time of 2:17.57. Iannaccone, Hamlin, Sydney Lu and Brenner, meanwhile, were also the runner-ups in the 200 medley relay (1:42.61).
- Harvard enters Friday's meet with Columbia having won 37 of the 38 all-time meetings. The Crimson has won nine straight vs. the Lions.
- Harvard is looking for its first 5-0 start since 2022-23, when it opened with six straight dual-meet victories.
- Columbia visits Blodgett Pool looking for its first victory of the season. The Lions fell in their season opener, 164-136, to Penn, and last week dropped a 178-22 decision to Yale.
