Men's Water Polo Set to Begin 2024 Playoff Run

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 15 men's water polo is set to begin the 2024 postseason with Conn. College tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN+. Beginning its playoff run, Harvard looks to make it back to the NWPC Championship game for the second consecutive year after finishing the season in a tie for first place in the conference.

WHAT TO KNOW
  • Six Crimson earned All-Conference honors on Wednesday.
  • Dean Strauser was named NWPC Rookie of the Year joining James Rozolis-Hill as the other Crimson on the roster to win the award in his first year.
  • Strauser became the fourth Crimson to earn NWPC Rookie of the Year Honors.
  • Both Strauser and Rozolis-Hill earned spots on the NWPC First Team after great offensive seasons.
  • Rozolis-Hill currently sits at 116 goals as he approaches breaking his own record for single-season goals he set back in his first year. Just eight goals shy of the record, the junior has been averaging 4.29 goals per game this season.
  • Owen Hale and Jack Burghardt both earned spots on the second team. Hale earned his third consecutive second-team appearance while Burghardt picked up his first NWPC yearly award.
  • Both Jacob Tsotadze and Tanner Furtak also registered their first NWPC yearly awards after being NWPC honorable mentions.
  • Harvard finished the regular season in a tie for first but got bumped to the second seed due to goal differential.
  • Splitting the season series with Princeton but losing the goal differential, Harvard will only be able to face the Tigers in the final if both teams were to advance that far.
  • The Crimson did not play Conn. College this season but did defeat them in the first round of the NWPC playoffs last season.
  • Defeating the Camels by a score of 18-1, the Crimson went on to beat Brown 13-10 before falling to Princeton in the NWPC Championship game.
  • A win in the final regular season game last weekend gave Harvard its 20th win of the season. Picking up with No. 20 on the final game ensured that Crimson has won 20 or more games for ten consecutive seasons.
