CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Another fall in Cambridge was filled with amazing moments and memories for the Harvard cross country program, as the Crimson enjoyed an excellent and memorable 2024 season.
The 2024 season began down south in Attleboro, Massachusetts, as Harvard renewed a storied rivalry on the trails of Highland Park, facing off in a dual meet against Yale.
Following its showdown with the Bulldogs, the Crimson packed its bags for a successful trip to the Keystone State, as the women finished in first while the men took second at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
The Crimson wrapped the regular season with a pair of contests, the IC4A & ECAC Championships in New York City and NCAA Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin. Against some of the nation's top programs at the Zimmer Championship course, the Crimson shined at Pre-Nationals, as both teams earned spots in the top-25 of the standings.
The postseason started in Princeton, N.J., as Harvard competed in one of the longest running conference championship meets, the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships. Both squads finished in second, as
Graham Blanks won his second Ivy League title in the men's 8k race.
At the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in New Hampshire, the Crimson took another step to the NCAA Championships, as both teams earned a spot in Madison with top-five finishes at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships.
On collegiate cross country's grandest stage, the Crimson shined, enjoying a successful and historic day at the NCAA Championships. For the second time in his storied Crimson career,
Graham Blanks won the NCAA Men's Cross Country National Title, becoming just the 13
th student-athlete in NCAA history to win consecutive NCAA men's cross country national titles.
An inspiring group of Crimson student-athletes authored another stellar chapter in the history of Harvard cross country, building the foundation for even more success in the future.
