CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's volleyball begins Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action this weekend, hosting Charleston for a two-match series at the Malkin Athletic Center. Game one begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, while game two is set for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, Feb. 17. Both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- Harvard brings a two-game winning streak to its two-game series against Charleston.
- In a strong showing, the Crimson defeated Merrimack in straight sets, as Logan Shepherd tallied a team-high 11 kills.
- The next match saw Harvard earn a key victory in a thrilling 3-2 victory against Lincoln Memorial. The Crimson erased a 2-1 deficit to secure the win.
- Three Harvard student-athletes finished with double-digit totals in kills, as Ethan Smith, Owen Fanning and Shepherd all tallied 10 or more kills.
- James Bardin garnered EIVA Defensive Player of the Week honors. In the victory against Merrimack, Bardin recorded a team-highs in digs (six) and assists (25).
- Bardin carried the momentum into the next win against Lincoln, leading the team again in assists with 39 while also blocking a conference-high five shots.
- Zach Berty is leading the charge on the offensive end, tallying a team-high 58 kills this season.
- The Golden Eagles are 7-3 so far this season, dropping consecutive matches to Sacred Heart last weekend.
