CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 8 Harvard men's tennis closed out non-conference home action this afternoon by grabbing their fifth ranked victory of the season, defeating No. 44 Northwestern, 4-0.
How it Happened
Harvard began the match similar to their last meeting with the Wildcats by breezing to the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions.
Daniel Milavsky and
Cooper Williams bounced back with a dominant, 6-2, victory over Felix Nordby and Gleb Blekher (Northwestern).
David Lins and
Henry von der Schulenburg completed their match nearly simultaneously to clinch the point by downing Jackson Caldwell and Nick Herdoiza (Northwestern), 6-3.
In singles action,
Valdemar Pape quickly put the Crimson up 2-0 with a straight set, 6-1, 6-3, victory over Greyson Caseuy at the No. 6 spot.
Bouncing back at the No. 2 position, von der Schulenburg registered his second win of the day by downing Gleb Blekher. After winning a close, 7-5, opening set, the senior pulled the Crimson within a point of clinching with a 6-4 decision in the second set.
Daniel Milavsky grabbed his 10
th singles win of the young season to secure the Harvard sweep over the Wildcats. Taking on Saiprakash Goli (Northwestern), Milavsky posted a pair of 6-4 decision to close out the match in straight sets.

- The No. 7 nationally ranked duo of Daniel Milavsky and Cooper Williams bounced back this afternoon with a dominant 6-2 to move to 18-8 throughout 2023-24.
- David Lins and Henry von der Schulenburg complete an undefeated weekend with their win at the No. 3 spot. The duo now stands at 3-2 throughout the spring.
- Valdemar Pape who just recently returned to action in the dual season registered his second victory of the year by cruising to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 6 position.
- With a pair of wins this weekend, Milavsky continues to have a dominant start to his junior campaign. The junior has now reach double digit victories in singles play in the spring season along while only having dropped one match.
- Matching up for the second time in nearly a month, the Crimson registered their second straight sweep over the Wildcats.
- With the win, the Crimson take advantage of the all-time series record, moving to 11-10 against the Wildcats. Including twice this season, Harvard has now defeated Northwestern in five straight matches.
