CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's volleyball will begin a five-match road stretch this weekend beginning against Daemen University on Friday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m., followed by D'Youville the next day at 1:00 p.m.
What to Know
- Last weekend the Crimson closed out an eight-match road stretch with a pair of battles against No 14 Princeton in the Malkin Athletic Center.
- After dropping Friday's match to the Tigers, Harvard bounced back to defeat the Ivy foe, 3-1, picking up its first ranked win since 2020.
- By picking up another victory this weekend, the Crimson improved to 3-1 in conference action, marking their best league start since the shortened 2020 season. Harvard will next face a conference opponent on March 29 and 30 as it travels to Penn State.
- Across the two matches Owen Fanning contributed 22 kills, including a career-high tying performance on Friday with 14 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
- Logan Shepherd led the team in digs on both nights, combining for 23 across the two battles. His 13 in the Crimson Saturday victory, tied a career-high previously reached against McKendree last season.
- Owen Woolbert provided a strong all-around performance to help lift the Crimson over its opponent, contributing a team-high seven total blocks, an ace, and six kills on Saturday.
- Led by 11 kills from Zach Berty, the Crimson had six players record six or more kills to total 45 against the Tigers.
- The Crimson will look to take a lead in the all-time series against Daemen as it now stands even at 1-1. The two squads last met last season as Harvard fell in a 3-1 decision.
- The matchup between Harvard and D'Youville will be the first all-time between the two schools.
