PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving's
Nina Janmyr punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships on Monday after finishing in fifth place on the one-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
How It Happened
- Janmyr will make her second straight NCAA appearance after finishing in fifth place with a score of 571.35. The sophomore advanced to the final after coming in fifth place during the prelims following a score of 277.00. She will now join Anya Mostek in Athens, Georgia, for the national meet. Mostek is set to compete in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
- Janmyr's 571.35 was an improvement over her first-year performance at the Zone A event. Last season, Janmyr finished with a score of 542.05, which was good for 10th place.
- Junior Remi Edvalson joined Janmyr in the final after she came in seventh in the prelims (268.25). Edvalson, however, did not make the nationals cut after finishing in eighth place (556.05).
- Amy Wotovich and Katie Laverty also competed in the prelims, but the duo was unable to finish in the top 18 to advance to the finals. Wotovich came in 33rd place (237.55), with Laverty checking in four spots behind (233.60, 37th).
Up Next
Harvard returns to action on Tuesday when all four divers compete on the three-meter board. The first half of prelims are slated for a 10:30 a.m. start, with the other half going at 2:30 p.m. The finals are tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. All rounds will air live on ESPN+.
