PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving's
Remi Edvalson finished in fourth place in platform diving on Wednesday at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. With her performance, the junior qualified for the NCAA Championships in Athens, Georgia.
Hailing from Saratoga, California, Edvalson made it to the finals after a 5-dive prelim score of 237.40, which was the fourth-best effort among the 22-person field. Following another 5-dive round, Edvalson remained firmly entrenched in the fourth position (488.50) to secure her spot at nationals.
With her platform-diving berth in hand, Edvalson will also be invited to compete at NCAAs in the 1-meter diving competition as a result of her Zone score. The junior finished in eighth place (556.05) Monday on the 1-meter springboard.
Edvalson will now join
Nina Janmyr (1-meter),
Anya Mostek (100 back, 200 back) and
Amy Wotovich (3-meter) at the NCAA Championships. The four-day meet is set for March 20-23, with Harvard slated to compete the final three days of the event.
