Men’s Tennis Outlasted by UCLA, Falls 3-4

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – No. 10 Harvard men's tennis fought back from a 1-3 deficit this evening but ultimately fell, 3-4, to the No. 29 UCLA Bruins in its final match of the team's trip out west.

How it Happened

The Crimson opened the match from behind as it fell in the No. 2 and 3 doubles spots to drop the doubles point.

Cooper Williams quickly got the Crimson on the board in his first singles appearance of the week, dropping No. 28 Govind Nanda with identical 6-2 decisions.

With the match at one-all, the Bruins pulled back ahead and ultimately within a point of the win after victories at the No. 4 and 5 positions.

First-year Rohan Murali kept the Crimson alive by picking up a crucial straight set, 6-1, 7-5 victory over Jorge Plan Gonzalez (UCLA).

Harvard was still battling even as Henry von der Schulenburg trailed 2-5 in the third set.  Needing a victory to keep the Crimson going, the senior won five straight games to tie up the match at three-all.

With just the No. 3 match outstanding, Daniel Milavsky battled tightly with his opponent but ultimately, the Bruins were able to hang on to the victory.
