ATHENS, Ga. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving completed its second day of action at the NCAA Championships on Friday at Gabrielsen Natatorium. The Crimson competed in the 100 backstroke and the three-meter diving competition.
Anya Mostek opened the day for Harvard in the prelims of the 100 back. The sophomore, who was assigned Lane 4 in Heat 3, finished the event in 52.84, which was the fifth-fastest time in the heat. At the conclusion of the seventh and final heat, Mostek finished in 40
th place and first among Ivy swimmers (Princeton's Sabrina Johnston finished 45
th; 53.08). Her performance, however, was not fast enough to advance to the finals.
In the three-meter event,
Amy Wotovich completed her six dives with a score of 242.40. The junior tri-captain finished the prelims in 40
th place. After all 49 divers finished their six attempts, Wotovich did not place high enough to move on to the consolation finals.
The Crimson will close out action at nationals on Saturday when Mostek competes in the 200 back and
Remi Edvalson steps foot onto the platform for the final diving event of the meet. The swimming prelims are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET, with diving set for approximately noon. ESPN+ will provide live coverage.
