CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball meets the University of Massachusetts in the third-place game of The Baseball Beanpot on Tuesday, Apr. 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Boston College's Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at the Harrington Athletics Village in Brighton, Massachusetts.

- The Crimson (5-19, 3-6 Ivy) meets the Minutemen (9-17, 2-4 A-10) in the first of two Beanpot games at BC on Tuesday with Boston College facing Northeastern in the championship game at 5:00 p.m.
- Harvard will start LHP Brian Dowling (0-2, 12.00 ERA) on the mound. UMass will counter with LHP Andrew Middleton (1-0, 4.35 ERA).
- The Crimson holds a 33-21 advantage in the all-time series with Massachusetts. The two teams first met in 1914.

- Junior George Cooper has hit .290 on the season with 27 hits, 14 RBIs, 14 runs, three doubles, and two triples. In Ivy only play, he has posted a .400 average, 16 hits, seven RBIs, seven runs, and a .429 OBP. In Ivy action, he ranks second in the league in hits (16) and fifth in average (.400). For the season, he has tallied 10 multi-hit games.
- Junior outfielder Matt Giberti has notched a .254 average on the year with a .321 OBP and a 14-for-14 mark on stolen base attempts. He leads the Ivy League in stolen bases (14) and ranks 11th in the NCAA in stolen bases per game (0.67). Giberti earned Ivy League Player of the Week after hitting .556 (5-for-9) with four runs, three doubles, and a .636 OBP in the Penn State series (Mar. 8-10).
- Senior infielder Chris Snopek leads the team in home runs (five) and RBIs (24) on the year with a .253 average, 24 hits, and 14 runs. Snopek ranks fifth in the Ivy League in RBIs (24). For the season, he has posted four multi-RBI games and seven multi-hit games. He went 5-for-13 with three runs and a home run in The Citadel (Mar. 2-3) series. Snopek finished 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs in game two at Western Carolina (Mar. 16) and tallied a season-high five RBIs in back-to-back games vs. Brown (Mar. 31) and Boston College (Apr. 2).
- Junior catcher William Lybrook has posted a .347 average with 17 hits, 12 RBIs, 13 runs, and a .393 OBP. In Ivy only play, he has notched a .333 average with a .414 OBP. He went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, three runs, and a home run in game two vs. Western Carolina (Mar. 16).
- Junior right-hander Sean Matson has posted a 3.58 ERA with 41 strikeouts over 37.2 innings on the year. He ranks second in the Ivy League in ERA (3.58), third in opponent average (.225), and fourth in strikeouts (41). In Ivy only play, he has notched a 3.94 ERA with 19 strikeouts over 16.0 innings. He earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 4 after throwing 6.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts at The Citadel (Mar. 2).
- Sophomore right-hander Callan Fang leads the Ivy League in strikeouts (54), while ranking third in strikeouts looking (13) and fifth in innings pitched (39.2). During Ivy only play, he has registered a 2.79 ERA with 30 strikeouts over 19.1 innings, ranking first in the conference in strikeouts (30) and third in opponent average (.162). In the NCAA, he ranks 49th in strikeouts per nine innings (12.25). Fang earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 1 after compiling a career-high 12 strikeouts over 7.0 innings in the win over Brown (Mar. 30). He tallied another 12 strikeouts in game three at Cornell (Apr. 7). Fang has also contributed at the plate, hitting .368 (7-for-19) with four RBIs and a home run.
- Junior right-hander Cole Cleary has posted a 1.00 ERA – tops in the conference – with six strikeouts over 9.0 innings in Ivy League play. He earned his first collegiate save in game two vs. Cornell (Apr. 7). Overall, he has notched a 5.52 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 14.2 innings.
- First-year right-hander Andrew Abler has tallied a 5.54 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 13.0 innings. Abler threw 4.0 innings of relief against Troy (Feb. 23), permitting one run on one hit with four strikeouts. He tossed 2.0 innings of scoreless relief at Western Carolina (Mar. 16).
- As a team, Harvard ranks second in the Ivy League in opposing batting average (.274) and fourth in strikeouts (187) on the mound, while standing third in hits (221), third in stolen bases (29-of-35), and fourth in RBIs (126) at the plate.Â
