CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Former Harvard track & field and cross country student-athlete
Lisa Tertsch '21 will represent Germany in the triathlon at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. A native of Darmstadt, Germany, Tertsch will make her Olympic debut this summer.
Tertsch excelled in several distance events during her collegiate track & field career. At the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, Tertsch claimed the Ivy League titles in the 5000m and the 10,000m. She also took home the Ivy League championship in the indoor 5000m at the 2019 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships.
On the professional triathlon circuit, Tertsch enjoyed several incredible performances across the globe. In Hamburg, Germany, Tertsch pushed Germany to a first place at 2024 the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships. On the previous day, Tertsch finished in second place in the elite women's portion of the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Series in Hamburg. Earlier this year, Tertsch claimed first place at the 2024 Europe Triathlon Cup in Quarteira, Portugal.
The women's individual portion of the triathlon takes place on Wednesday, July 31
st, while Tertsch will also compete in the mixed relay on Monday, Aug. 5. Harvard fans can watch all the action from the 2024 Paris Olympics live on NBC and Peacock.
