PARIS, FRANCE –– The US Men's Eight set the fastest time in the opening heat in the Paris 2024 Olympics on Monday, July 29. Three Harvard Alumni helped the US advance to the 'A' final: Pieter Quinton (Stroke), Clark Dean '22 (4-seat), and Christian Tabash '22 (3-seat).
The US Men's Eight finished with a time of 5:29.94, a full 1.88 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finishing Netherlands. The 'A' Final will take place on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 5:10 a.m. ET.

Josh Hicks '13 competed in the Australia Men's Eight. The boat finished 2nd in Heat 2 with a time of 5:42.07. The Australia eight will advance to a repechage on Thursday, Aug. 1.
