CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 16 Harvard Men's Water Polo is set to begin its 2024 season this weekend with the Bruno Classic. Playing four games over Saturday and Sunday, the Crimson will welcome six teams to Blodgett Pool at the annual kick-off tournament.
Beginning with a Saturday doubleheader against Wagner at 9:00 a.m. and Cal Baptist at 1:00 p.m., Harvard will finish the weekend with Pacific at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday before an exhibition with Fordham at 1:00 p.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Coming off a 25-4 season in 2023, the Crimson fell in the NWPC championship game to Princeton.
- Heading into the final game of the season, the Crimson had won 19 straight games.
- Key performers, James Rozolis-Hill, Jack Burghardt, Owen Hale, and Mot Stothart all return this season for the Crimson.
- Junior James Rozolis-Hill currently sits at 232 career goals after putting up 123-goals in his rookie year and following that up with another 109-goal season last year. The Huntington Beach native is only 50 goals away from becoming the program leader in career goals.
- Harvard defeated Wagner last season at the Bruno Classic 13-3 on its way to a 3-1 start to begin the season.
- The Crimson also defeated both CBU and Pacific in a trip to California last season. While falling to No. 20 Fordham.
- The Crimson checked in at No. 16 in the first week of the ACWPC Poll.
