ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Harvard cross country began the 2024 season with the famed HY dual meet against Yale, as the Bulldogs won both the men's and women's races.
Senior captain
Marianne Mihas was the Crimson's top finisher in the women's 4k race at Highland Park, as the Chicago, Illinois native crossed the finish line in 10
th place with a time of 15:04.87. In her collegiate debut, first-year
Katelyn Matarese slotted in 11
th place, posting a time of 15:11.02. Junior
Jordyn Duby and sophomore
Samira Kennedy finished in 14
th and 15
th place, respectively.
The men's race saw three Crimson post top-10 performances against the Bulldogs. Senior captain
Joe Ewing impressed in his 2024 debut on the trail, as he finished in second place with a time of 18:03.43 over the 6k race. Fellow seniors
Reed Pryor and
Noah Ward also orchestrated solid showings. Pryor posted a time of 18:16.16 on the way to a fifth place showing, while Ward crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 18:17.63.

The Crimson return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 5, as Harvard student-athletes will participate in the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa.
