HYP on Deck for Women’s Swimming and Diving

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving will travel to New Haven, Connecticut for its annual HYP (Harvard-Yale-Princeton) meet, which is scheduled for Jan. 31 (1 p.m.)-Feb. 1 (10 a.m.). This year's get-together will occur at Yale's Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.

What to Know

  • Harvard is 8-0 on the season and 5-0 against Ivy League competition. Yale and Princeton, meanwhile, come into the meet with impressive records of their own. The Bulldogs are 7-0 (5-0 Ivy) and the Tigers are 9-1 (5-0 Ivy).
  • The Crimson is 3-0 since the calendar turned from 2024 to 2025. Harvard defeated Hawai'i and Arkansas in Honolulu on Jan. 9, before earning a 194-106 home win over Penn this past Saturday.
  • With eight dual-meet wins, Harvard has posted its most victories in a single season since 2012-13, when it finished the campaign at 9-0. A sweep at HYP will give the Crimson its first 10-win effort since going 10-0 in 2005-06.
  • Harvard is looking for its first Ivy dual-meet championship since 2014-15 when it shared the crown after going 6-0-1. The Crimson last won the title outright in 2012-13, following its 7-0 performance against conference foes.
  • In the midst of her second season, Amanda Kulik, The Costin Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Swimming & Diving, is 13-2 in dual meets. Her .867 winning percentage is the highest to date by a Harvard women's swimming and diving head coach in their first two seasons. Ranking second is Maura C. Scalise '80, who was a combined 19-6 in 1984-85 and 1985-86.
  • A season ago, Harvard split HYP, taking down Yale, 172-128, but falling to No. 24 Princeton, 183-117. The win vs. the Bulldogs was the Crimson's first since a 184-116 decision in 2015 (at Princeton).
  • Harvard is in search of its first sweep of HYP since 2013-14. Since that 2-0 performance, the Crimson split the meet three times (2017, 2019, 2024) and went 1-0-1 in 2015, defeating Yale and tying Princeton.
  • Harvard carries a 28-19 all-time lead into its matchup vs. Yale and looks to build off last season's victory. The Crimson, however, trails the all-time series with Princeton, 14-29-1, and will be looking to secure its first win over the Tigers since 2019.

Up Next

Harvard is scheduled to make the trek to Princeton, New Jersey, for the Ivy League Championships, which are slated for Feb. 19-22.
