CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing will be in action this weekend, appearing at three regattas across three states. The Crimson is scheduled to compete at the Reid Trophy Team Race in Dorchester, the Open Atlantic Coast Championship in Annapolis, Maryland, and the Yale Women's Regatta in New Haven, Connecticut.

Sunny skies and chilly temperatures will be present for the one-day event on Saturday. Temps will start in the low 50s and get to a high of 60 by late afternoon. The wind will be between 4-5 knots (NNW, N, NE, ENE).
Open Atlantic Coast Championship | Annapolis, Md.
Saturday will feature mostly cloudy skies and temps hovering around 60 for most of the day, before reaching 65 degrees by late afternoon. The wind will increase as the day gets old, but it will be close to non-existent in the morning. From noon on, the wind will blow between 3-6 knots (SSE). Sunday will be warmer (65-71 degrees) and winds will be stronger (10-15 knots), making for an exciting finish.
Yale Women's Regatta | New Haven, Conn.
Mostly sunny skies will welcome sailors when they reach the water. Temps will start in the 50s and get to as high as 64. The wind will hold steady at five knots throughout the day (N, NW, WSW, SW). Sunday will peak at 68 degrees by early afternoon, with the wind blowing between 8-12 knots (S, SSE).
What to Know
- Harvard registered a pair of second-place performances and an upper-division team finish last week on the water. The Crimson was the runner-up at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship – Final and at the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta. Harvard's representation at the Captain Hurst Bowl, meanwhile, came in seventh in the 14-team field.
- Harvard enjoyed a strong second day at the Women's ACC – Final on the Charles River, leaping from fourth place after Saturday's action to second at the close of Sunday. Zoey Ziskind shared her A-division boat with Christina Chen (1-6), Peyton Hadfield (7-8) and Sophia Montgomery (9-14). Kate Danielson, meanwhile, skippered the Crimson's B-entry with JJ Drummond (1-6) and Chen (7-14). Altogether, they posted a 164, finishing behind Stanford (136).
- The Crimson appeared for the first time at the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta and finished in second place. Led by Xavier Ayala-Vermont with James Bergstrom, Julia Downey, Olivia Hogan-Lopez, Aidan Pesce, Caroline Straw and Theresa Straw serving as crew, Harvard posted a six-race score of 14.0 in the J/105 group of the One Design division. Charleston emerged victorious with an 8.0.
- Harvard came in seventh place at the Captain Hurst Bowl in New Hampshire in what turned into a one-day regatta due to a lack of wind on Saturday. Harrison Strom and Hanah Youn competed in the A-division, with Jacob Posner and Amelie Zucker going up against the B-field. They finished with a score of 92. Brown won the event with a 49.
- The Crimson is making its first appearance at the Reid Trophy Team Race since 2021, when it finished first of six teams. Harvard finished with a 14-1 record, four wins clear of runner-up Brown.
- Harvard is looking to improve upon its fourth-place showing at the 2024 Open Atlantic Coast Championship – Final. Justin Callahan and Mitchell Callahan are back from last season's squad, which sailed in just seven races due to a lack of wind. The Crimson last won the event in 2023.
- Harvard returns to the Yale Women's Regatta 12 months after it finished in third place. Ziskind and Hadfield competed in the A-division last year, with Kate Danielson skippering the Crimson's B-division boat. The Crimson finished with a score of 141, behind Yale (104) and Dartmouth (120). Harvard is looking for its first title at the event since 2022.
- Looking ahead to the national championships in November, Harvard received three bids to the singlehanded regatta and one to the match race event. Sophia Montgomery will look to defend her national singlehanded title after earning an at-large berth and will be joined by at-large recipient Kate Danielson. Robby Meek, the NEISA champion, will try to capture his first open crown in his third appearance. Justin Callahan, meanwhile, will lead Harvard at the match race regatta after securing an automatic bid following the Crimson's NEISA victory.
