SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. – Harvard fencing kicked-off the 2025-26 fencing calendar with a series of stellar performances at the October North America Cup, as five Crimson recorded top-10 performances.
Junior
Henry Lawson posted the top result for the Crimson at the October NAC, as the two-time All-American shined with a second place showing in Division I men's epee competition. In the semifinals, Lawson rose to the occasion, earning his spot in the gold medal round with a 15-9 win over Oleg Knysh.
A pair of first-years were phenomenal in the Division I women's foil event. First-year
Lucia Zhang was sensational, taking seventh place as fellow classmate
Emily Jing followed closely behind with a 10
th place showing. Zhang also excelled in the Junior women's foil event, taking eighth at the end of the competition.
Harvard made an immediate impact in the Division I women's epee event at the October NAC. Junior
Isabella Chin was exceptional on the strip over the day, finishing in sixth against a strong field. Along with Chin, sophomore
Yasmine Khamis also represented the Crimson in the Division I women's epee event, finishing in 41
st. Khamis also took 91
st in the Junior women's epee event.
Two Crimson fencers found success in the Division I men's foil competition to start the weekend in Salt Lake City. A two-time All-American, junior and team captain
Daniel Zhang took 12
th place at the October North America Cup, as first-year
Roy Graham placed in a tie for 67
th. Graham, a native of Springfield, Virginia, shined in the Junior men's foil event as well last weekend, taking 11
th to end his time at the October NAC.
The Crimson were exceptional in the Division I women's saber event, as a trio of Crimson finished inside the top 50 of the standings. An All-American Second Team selection last season, junior
Kaitlyn Pak led the way for Harvard in Division I women's saber, taking fifth place. Senior
Zoe Kim finished in 33
rd, while fellow classmate
Chloe Williams took 50
th.
A pair of Crimson wrapped their weekends with the Division I men's saber event. First-year
Cody Ji took 46
th place, while junior
Tommy Choi finished in 120
th.
Harvard will now turn its attention to the start of the collegiate season and international events in the beginning of November.
