CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football sophomore kicker
Kieran Corr has been named the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week. The Winchester native helped the Crimson stay undefeated with his 53-yard field goal as time expired in Saturday's game vs. Penn.
Corr was perfect on his six point-after-attempts in what was a shootout on Tim Murphy Field at Harvard Stadium. After the Quakers took a 43-42 lead with 22 seconds remaining, quarterback
Jaden Craig engineered a 5-play, 40-yard drive that brought the Crimson to the Penn 35-yard line with five seconds left. The situation called for Corr and the sophomore put the ball through the uprights to send the Crimson to its ninth win in nine tries this season and secured at least a share of its third straight Ivy League title.
The 53-yarder was a career long and his first game-winner at the collegiate level. Corr also handled kickoff duties and averaged 55.7 yards on his seven attempts, with three going for touchbacks.
Corr and his Harvard teammates now turn their focus to Saturday's opponent, Yale. The 141
st edition of The Game is slated for a noon ET start in New Haven, Connecticut, and will air live on ESPNU. The winner of the contest will also earn the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
