CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football senior quarterback
Jaden Craig and sophomore kicker
Kieran Corr have been named the Ivy League Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively. This is the third award of the season for Craig and first for Corr.
Hailing from Montclair, New Jersey, Craig completed 28 of 45 passes for 390 yards with zero interceptions and three touchdowns in a thrilling 45-43 home win over Penn. The QB's 390 passing yards were a career high as were his 28 completions. His sixth multi-passing-TD game of the season was also accompanied by his second rushing touchdown of the year.
As for Corr, who earlier in the day was named Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week, he was perfect on his six point-after-attempts in what was a shootout on Tim Murphy Field at Harvard Stadium. After the Quakers took a 43-42 lead with 22 seconds remaining, Craig engineered a 5-play, 40-yard drive that brought the Crimson to the Penn 35-yard line with five seconds left. The situation called for Corr and the sophomore put the ball through the uprights to send the Crimson to its ninth win in nine tries this season and secured at least a share of its third straight Ivy League title.
The 53-yarder was a career long and his first game-winner at the collegiate level. Corr also handled kickoff duties and averaged 55.7 yards on his seven attempts, with three going for touchbacks.
Harvard now turns its attention to Saturday's opponent, Yale. The 141
st edition of The Game is slated for a noon ET start in New Haven, Connecticut, and will air live on ESPNU. The winner of the contest will also earn the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
