CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harmoni Turner of Harvard women's basketball added another major award to her resume as she was named the ECAC Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Year, the conference announced this morning. Additionally, Turner was named to the All-ECAC First Team.
This season, Turner averaged 22.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.8 steals across 29 games. The senior shot a career best 43.5% from the field and 35.6% from three. Her dominant stat line also earned her the Ivy League Player of the Year and a unanimous All-Ivy First Team selection.
The Mansfield, Texas native leaves Cambridge as one of the best to ever wear the Harvard jersey. She ends her career second all-time in steals (269) and field goals (756), third in points (2,032) and scoring average (18.5), fourth in three-pointers (188), and sixth in assists (405).
The ECAC is comprised 200 total institutions including 66 Division I programs. To earn a major award or an All-ECAC selection a player must receive the equivalent honor in their respective conference.
