Women's Lacrosse Opens Ivy Play With Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 19 Harvard women's lacrosse returns to action after a 10-day break to play No. 13 Princeton on Saturday at Sherrerd Field. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and will stream live on ESPN+.

NATIONALLY RANKED
  • Originally jumping into the rankings two weeks ago after upsetting No. 15 Navy, Harvard went on to defeat No. 23 UConn in its last matchup to climb to No. 22 in the most recent IWLCA poll and No. 19 in the latest IL Women's poll.
  • The Crimson defeated Navy by a score of 11-9 to check in at No. 24 before an overtime win over the Huskies moved them up yet again.
  • The Crimson plays its third straight nationally ranked opponent on Saturday, marking the first time they have played three consecutive ranked opponents since 2017.
  • The Crimson defeated consecutive nationally ranked opponents for the first time since at least 2014.
CRIMSON QUICK HITS
  • Harvard is led by Devon Wills, the sixth-year Carole Kleinfelder Head Coach for Harvard Women's Lacrosse. The Crimson has increased its win total over the last three seasons under Wills, from seven in 2022 to eight in 2023 and ten in 2024.
  • Last season's 10-win performance (10-5) was the program's first since the 2011 squad finished at 10-6. The Crimson finished at least five games over .500 for the first time since Kleinfelder's 1994 team posted an 11-4 record.
  • Harvard enters 2025 coming off its third straight Ivy League Tournament appearance, its longest streak since qualifying in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
  • Since a win at Holy Cross on March 11, 2023, Harvard is 21-7 in its last 28 regular-season games.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Harvard defeated No. 23 UConn in overtime after Stella Shea found the back of the net on the woman-up advantage to secure the Crimson's third win of the season.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
  • The No. 13 Tigers will be the third straight ranked opponent for the Crimson this season.
  • Sitting at 4-1 on the season, the Tigers lost their opening game to No. 8 Virginia (13-11) before winning their next four games.
  • Princeton defeated No. 13 Loyola (16-14), Delaware (15-14), Hofstra (20-4), and Penn State (16-7).
  • Haven Dora leads the Tigers in scoring with five goals and 22 assists, while McKenzie Blake leads the team with 20 goals and two assists.
LEADING THE CRIMSON
  • Annabel Child, Charley Meier, and Caroline Mullahy were named captains during the offseason.
  • Mullahy led the nation in assists per game (3.67) and earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition.
  • Annabel Child recorded a team-high 25 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls, ranking second on the team.
  • Child anchored a Crimson defense that ranked eighth in the NCAA in ground balls per game, averaging 20.08.
  • Meier started in 14 of 15 games last season, tallying 11 goals and two assists for 13 points while also earning an Academic All-Ivy nod.
AMONG THE NATION'S BEST
  • As a team, the Crimson finished in the top 10 nationally in four major statistical categories last season.
  • The Crimson defense ranked eighth in the nation, averaging 20.08 ground balls per game.
  • Led by Caroline Mullahy, Harvard finished fourth in the nation with 8.78 assists per game.
  • With three players recording 60+ points, the Crimson averaged 24.73 points per game, ranking fifth in the nation.
  • Scoring more than 200 goals for the first time since 2018, Harvard finished with 240 goals in 15 games. Averaging 16.00 goals per game, the Crimson recorded its highest single-season goal total in more than 15 years, ranking seventh nationally in goals per game.
