Softball Summer Spotlight: Megan Davies

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – This summer, Megan Davies worked for Delegate JJ Singh, who represents District 26 in the Virginia House of Delegates. As a Policy Research Intern, Megan supported the office by conducting legislative research on policy priorities and constituent concerns throughout the district.

One of the biggest takeaways from the internship was learning how to communicate effectively with team members and colleagues. With so many different types of policies and issues to cover, clear writing was essential for updating and informing everyone. Building on this skill not only improved Megan's professional work but also strengthened the way she communicates in everyday conversations.

Her favorite part of the experience was the chance to deepen her connection with her own community. By working on issues that directly impact her family, friends, and neighbors, Megan gained a greater understanding of her community's values and felt her passion for public service grow stronger. The work took on a new meaning, and she left the internship with a deeper sense of purpose.

Reflecting on her time in the Virginia House of Delegates, Megan encourages others to explore different opportunities and discover what excites them most. "Use the time you have now to figure out what you like and dislike, and don't be afraid to try something new."
