CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University men's soccer senior
Matus Vician has earned selection as a nominee for the Allstate NACDA Fall Good Works Team, Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced.
Vician stands as one of 128 student-athlete nominees for the inaugural Allstate NACDA Fall Good Works Team, recognizing male and female student-athletes across all divisions and sports who go above and beyond in their commitment to community service, academic achievement and athletic performance.
Vician served as a volunteer with Coach for College in Hau Giang Province, Vietnam during the summer of 2023. While there, he worked with children from disadvantaged areas in a month-long summer school, teaching English and coaching volleyball. Vician promoted higher education through sports and academics, while motivating students to achieve at high levels.
A human evolutionary biology concentrator, Vician has also acted as a summer school proctor at Harvard, volunteered at the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, acted as a researcher at Harvard's Skeletal Biology and Biomechanics Lab, and worked as a research assistant at The Center for Advanced Orthopedic Studies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
At Harvard, Vician has played in 33 career games, while tallying 11 career points behind three goals and five assists.
The 2025-26 Allstate NACDA Fall Good Works Team nominees represent seven collegiate sports, including soccer, volleyball, cross country, field hockey and water polo. A distinguished selection committee of athletics directors, former athletes and industry leaders will choose the final 20-member team — 10 female and 10 male student-athletes — set to be announced August 26.
Announced in December, the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team now recognizes 60 student-athletes annually across fall, winter and spring seasons, surpassing more than 500 nominees during its first year.
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team was established in 2024 to recognize male and female student-athletes across all collegiate sports and divisions for their leadership in community service, academics and athletics. Building on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, which has honored college football players since 1992, this expanded initiative highlights the impact of student-athletes who go beyond the game to serve others.
