CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing will open the month of October with three New England regattas. The Crimson is scheduled to compete at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship – Round 1, Stu Nelson Trophy and Sister Esther Open, with all three set for Saturday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 5.

Sunny skies will welcome sailors on Saturday, with temps in the low-70s. The breeze will be between 5-6 knots (W, WSW, SW, SSW). Sunday will be more of the same – sunny skies, low-70s temps. The wind, however, will pick up significantly, starting at five knots and quickly rising to 10 knots (SSW).
What to Know
- The Crimson is coming off a five-regatta weekend, its second of the fall campaign and first since the opening weekend (Sept. 6-7). Harvard finished in fourth at the Danmark Trophy, seventh at the Women's ACC – Round 1, 11th at the Moody Trophy and BU Invitational, 13th at the Smith Trophy.
- Harvard nearly captured last season's Open ACC – Round 1 in St. Mary's City, Maryland, finishing in second place. The Crimson return both of their skippers from a year ago in Justin Callahan (A) and Mitchell Callahan (B). With the duo leading the way, Harvard finished with a final score of 134, which was two points shy of the champion, Tulane.
- The Crimson will be in search of its first Open ACC – Round 1 victory since it emerged victorious in 2023, on the Charles River.
- Speaking of 2023, Harvard is scheduled to appear at the Stu Nelson Trophy for the first time since the fall of '23. The 2023 edition of the Stu Nelson featured three divisions, with only Zoey Ziskind remaining on the team from that entry. The now-junior teamed with Emily Launderville '24 to post the top C-division score (34). Overall, the Crimson finished in third place in the 16-team field.
- When Harvard takes the water at the Sister Esther Open, it will mark its first appearance at the event since 2018. The Crimson posted a score of 127 to finish fourth of 18 teams.
