CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2026 Harvard men's lacrosse season is finally here as the team is set to open its 2026 schedule this weekend against the Providence College Friars. The Crimson (0-0, 0-0 Ivy) will meet the Friars (2-0, 0-0 BIG EAST) in its season opener for the third consecutive seasons when the sides face off on Saturday (Feb. 14). First faceoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday with all the action set to air live on ESPN+.

The Matchup
Harvard will begin its 2026 campaign by welcoming the Providence College Friars into Jordan Field. The teams will battle in frigid conditions on the banks of the Charles, where temperatures are expected to be in the high 30s around first faceoff which is slated for 2:00 PM.

At the Helm
The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse,
Gerry Byrne, enters his seventh season at the helm of the program. The team has experienced success under Coach Byrne, posting a 33-24 record and a 11-13 mark in Ivy League action. Byrne has guided the Crimson to two NCAA Tournaments and last season helped lead the team to a spot in the Ivy League Tournament for the first time since 2016.
The Captains
A trio of captains will lead Harvard men's lacrosse in 2026.
Logan Ip,
Sean Jordan and
Jack Speidell were named the 161st, 162nd and 163rd captains in program history and will look to help their group make its way back to the Ivy League and NCAA tournaments.
Logan Ip became just the 17
th player in program history to be named a multi-year captain of the Crimson in its nearly 150-year history.

Speidell Senses
A 2025 USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention selection,
Jack Speidell will be back to lead the Crimson offense on the attack this season. The St. Anthony's product scored 46 goals and fed 13 assists, totaling 59 points during his breakout sophomore season. His 46 goals were the T-8 most in program history and the most ever by a sophomore in the history of HLX.
IP Check
Senior captian
Logan Ip will return to the Crimson after a career year in 2025. A USA Lacrosse Third Team All-America selection, Ip started all 15 games in the midfield for the Crimson in 2025 totaling new career highs with 38 points, 23 goals and 15 assists. One of the most accurate shooters in the nation, Ip posted the fifth-best shooting percentage in the NCAA with a 48.9-percent clip. The Corona Del Mar product ended the season on a 14-game point streak while leading the midfield in scoring during the 2025 season.
The First Years
A new wave of talented student-athletes has officially arrived in Cambridge for the Harvard men's lacrosse team as the program welcomes in 11 new faces to the program. The highly touted group joins the Harvard College Class of 2029 after seeing success at the high school and club levels. The 15th ranked class in the country according to. Inside Lacrosse, this group hopes to make an immediate impact on the program when it begins the 2026 season.

In the Cage
Sophomore goalkeeper,
Graham Stevens, will return to mind the crease for Harvard in 2026. The Pingry School product started all 15 games for Harvard last season, making 170 saves and posting a .486 save percentage and a 12.08 GAA 893 minutes in cage. A 2025 Ivy League All-Tournament Team selection, Stevens made a career high 18 saves in the semifinal matchup against Princeton.

Harvard will be back on the field next Tuesday (Feb. 17) to battle the Colgate Raiders at Jordan Field. The sides will square off under the lights at 7:00 PM with all the action airing live on NESN.
