Track & Field Ends Indoor Season at 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Two Crimson embark for Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend, as Harvard ends its indoor campaign at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday, Mar. 13 and Saturday, Mar. 14. Both days of action from the Randal Tyson Track Center will air live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW
  • Junior Sophia Gorriaran and Tito Alofe are heading back to NCAA Indoor Championships for a third consecutive year, as the duo are once again top talents in their events on the national stage.
  • A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Gorriaran will run the 800m at the NCAA Championships for the fifth time in her Crimson career across both indoor and outdoor competition.
  • Gorriaran is a four-time All-American in the 800m, as last season saw Gorriaran finish in seventh with a time of 2:02.57 to earn All-America First Team status at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships. Gorriaran also took All-America First Team honors in the women's 4x400m relay as well.
  • To close out the 2025-26 indoor regular season, Gorriaran set a new NCAA record in the women's 1000m with a time of 2:37.72, becoming the first student-athlete in NCAA history to go sub 2:38.00 in the women's 1000m. A member of a Crimson women's distance medley relay team that posted a NCAA record of 10:37.55 at the 2024 Penn Relays, Gorriaran is the first student-athlete in program history to hold multiple active NCAA records.
  • With a time of 2:01.30 at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, Gorriaran ranks 11th nationally in the 800m this year. Gorriaran started the postseason by winning Ivy League titles in both the women's 800m and the women's mile at the 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships, earning Co-Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete honors in the process.
  • Alofe, a three-time All-American in the men's high jump across indoor and outdoor action, is competing in the men's high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships for a third-straight year.
  • A native of Peachtree City, Georgia, Alofe currently ranks 12th nationally with a jump of 2.21m (7'3"), which is also the top mark in the northeast region and the Ivy League.
  • Last season saw Alofe earn All-America Second Team honors with a 12th place showing, clearing 2.16m (7'1") at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships.
  • The 2025 USTFCCCA Northeast Outdoor Men's Field Athlete of the Year, Alofe is looking to become the first three-time All-American in the men's indoor high jump in school history.
