Track and Field News 2011-12 Men's Recruiting Class
Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Director of track and field and
cross country Jason Saretsky announced his incoming class for track
and field, made up of 39 freshmen. The new class hails from 14
states (Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New
York, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Rhode Island, North Carolina, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Minnesota) and two
countries (United States and England).
“I am thrilled about this year's incoming
class,” said Saretsky. “The talent is in all event
areas and it is a great group of student-athletes. There are
several members of this class who will be able to make an immediate
impact. It should be an exciting year for Harvard Track and
Field.”
The men's track and field recruiting class is one of the
strongest in the history of the Ivy League. Track and Field
News released its annual recruiting class rankings and ranked
the Harvard men's class No. 5 in the nation. The Crimson
ranked behind only Texas, Oregon, defending champion Texas A&M
and Arkansas in the poll.
The 39 newcomers will be looking to immediately help both of the
track and field squads. Last year, the men's team had its
best finish at the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships in eight years,
placing fourth, one point shy of third place, while the women went
on to finish seventh. To go along with those strong finishes, Brian
Hill '11 represented Harvard at the NCAA Championships,
taking 23rd in the 800-meter run.
Here's a look at the class of 2015:
