Track Heads to Terrier Invite, Harvard Multi Challenge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard heptathletes and pentathletes will compete at the Harvard Multi Challenge Friday-Saturday, while the remainder of the track and field squad will head to the John Thomas Terrier Invitational at Boston University Track and Tennis Center this weekend.

The Terrier Invite will be streamed live for a fee here. Live stats will also be available at Lancer Timing.

Both of Friday's events will kick off at 2 p.m. At Gordon, the heptathlon will start with heats of the 60m dash. Field events at BU will start with long jump and shot put, while on the track then men's distance medley will start the day.

Competing in the pentathlon at Harvard will be freshman Haley Baker and sophomore Madison Hansen. Representing Harvard on the men's side will be Mark Hill.

Last year at the Terrier Invitational, Harvard's women's 4x400 relay stole the show, as the quartet rolled to victory, passing 40 other squads in the competition. Christi Scott, Gabrielle Scott, Autumn Franklin and Olivia Abbate posted a winning time of 3:44.08, good for the third fastest indoor time in school history. Sydnie Leroy matched her then-personal best in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.70 meters (12' 1.5"), taking second in the competition out of a field of 28 vaulters.

On the men's side a year ago, Damani Wilson led the Harvard sprint corps, finishing the 60 meter dash in 6.97, good for sixth overall. His time of 21.89 in the 200 was Harvard's best on the day, and is the second-fastest time in the event in school history.

Harvard last competed Jan. 18 at the Battle for Beantown, with the women ranking first and the men finishing second overall. Six meet records went down at the event.

Crimson will unite again February 1 at its Harvard Invitational.
