Track & Field Continues Outdoor Season at Raleigh Relays, D'Amour Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a successful start to the outdoor season, Harvard track & field is set to continue their 2026 campaign across two locations, down in North Carolina from Thursday, Mar. 26 to Saturday, Mar. 28 at the Raleigh Relays, and up in Lowell, Massachusetts on Friday, Mar. 27 for the D'Amour Invitational.

WHAT TO KNOW
  • Harvard began its 2026 outdoor campaign in the Lone Star State at the Kirk Baptiste Invitational. In exciting fashion, the Crimson continued right where they left off, with a plethora of top 10 finishes and various athletes stamping their names in Crimson history.
  • Junior Timi Esan, the reigning Ivy League champion in the men's 100, made history last Thursday when he set the school record in the men's 100 by finishing with a time of 10.26, breaking one of the longest standing marks in the men's record book. 
  • Starting the day, first-year Yannick Kraus finished in second place after clearing 4.75m (15'7"). Later in the event, the Dubai, United Arab Emirates product won the men's javelin with a throw of 54.38m (178'5"), while additionally placing eighth in the discus throw with a throw of 36.50m (119'9").
  • Junior Lilly Hodge climbed the record books with her pole vault win clearing 4.12m (13'6.25"), marking her outdoor career-best while additionally placing her second all-time in program history in the event.
  • Making her collegiate outdoor debut, first-year Jillene Wetteland finished second in the women's high jump after clearing 1.60m (5'3").
  • In the men's high jump, senior Daire Mahon and first-year Demetris Tzoannos finished in a tie for second place, where each of them clearing 1.90m (6'2.75").
  • Junior and team captain Alice Mihas achieved a third place finish in the women's hammer throw with an attempt of 51.65m (169'5").
  • In the women's discus throw, three Crimson finished in the top five, with first-year Nadjela Wepiwe placing second in her collegiate debut with her throw reaching 51.68 (169'6"), sophomore Tyler Glover placed third at the meet with her throw of 49.94m (163'10"), and senior Michaela Denson rounds out the trio of Crimson with a fifth place finish and a throw of 46.64m (153'0"). Both Wepiwe and Glover entered the record books with their throws, with Wepiwe ranks fourth all-time and Glover ranks sixth all-time, respectively.
  • Sophomore Abigail Dennis kicked off the running events by running the women's 100 hurdles, picking up a win with a time of 13:63. 
  • Junior Simon Weiser placed second with a time of 14.17 in the men's 110 hurdles.
  • In the women's 100m, Harvard placed consecutively in two-three-four. Junior Mickaila Haisley placed second with an 11.58, and with an identical time is sophomore Saige Forbes who finished third, and in fourth was sophomore Ella Cooper with a time of 11.59. 
  • Hailing from Maryland, Cooper additionally won the women's 200m with a time of 23.45, which is good for fifth all-time in school history. Haisley, the Kingsron, Jamaica product, placed third with her time of 23.75, which is good for sixth all-time in school history.
  • Senior team captain Jonas Clarke took home sixth place in the men's 100, with a finish of 10.44
  • A pair of Crimson finished top 10 in the women's 400m, where junior Marta Amani ran a 54.63, getting her third place, and sophomore Kaelin Creagh took home seventh with a time of 56.72.
  • In the men's 800m, senior Justin Levy won the event with a time of 1:52.90. Right behind him was first-year Hudson McGough who placed third with a time of 1:55.30, and first-year Preston Ellis, who achieved fifth place after running a 1:56.68.
  • Harvard captain and senior Jacklynn Okereke achieved second place in women's 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.76.
  • In the men's 400 hurdles, three Crimson finished in the top four, with first-year Oliver Parker leading the pack with a win in his collegiate debut, timing in at 51.30 and ranking sixth all-time in school history. A pair of seniors finished behind the Leicester, England native, Michal Husek placed third with a time of 52.36, and Ondrej Vesely ran a 53.32 which was good for fourth place.
  • Sophomore Harlow Tong captured fourth in the men's 200m with a time of 20.89.
  • The crew of Senior team captain Mfoniso Andrew, Cooper, Haisley, and Forbes achieved a 44.42 in the women's 4x100m relay, which won the event, placed second all-time in program history, and fifth all-time in Ivy League history.
  • The men's 4x100m team of Esan, Clarke, Turner, and Sophomore LeRoy Horton timed in at 39.72, which was good for the win and ranks fourth all-time in program history.
UP NEXT

Harvard starts the month of April with meets in Austin, Texas for the Texas Relays on Friday April 3 and Saturday April 4, and additionally Storrs, Connecticut for the UConn Dog Fight Invite on April 3 as well.
