CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off a record-breaking weekend at the Terrier Invitational, Harvard track and field returns to Gordon Indoor Track for the final home meet of the indoor season, hosting the Harvard Invitational Saturday, Feb. 1.
The field events will start with the women's weight throw, women's high jump and men's long jump at 10:30 a.m. A rolling schedule will begin on the track at 11:30 a.m. with the women's 60m hurdles trials.
Among the teams competing in the open meet will be Boston College, Holy Cross, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and UMass.
The women's squad, ranked No. 25 in the most recent USTFCCCA Poll, is coming off several first-place finishes at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational, including a record-breaking performance in the 4x400 relay. The squad of freshman Jade Miller (54.8), junior Erika Veidis (55.7), freshman Jackie Modesett (55.8) and junior Gabrielle Scott (53.7) bested a 15-year-old school record by over three seconds with a time of 3:40.41.
The men also rewrote the record book at the Terrier Invite, as senior Maksim Korolev ran the 5K in a Harvard program-best time of 13:42.56. The mark also ranks first overall in the NCAA this season.
The Crimson heads to the Armory Collegiate Invitational and the BU Valentine's Invitational next weekend.
