Wrestling Announces 2016-17 Schedule

Harvard will have five home contests on the Ivy League Digital Network (Robert Preston).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming off a season with eight head-to-head victories and three NCAA qualifiers, Jay Weiss, The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling, has announced the team's 2016-17 schedule. The slate features five home contests on the Ivy League Digital Network.

Harvard opens the fall season at the Jonathon Kalhoust Bearcat Open, hosted by Binghamton November 13, before traveling to Penn to wrestle in the Keystone Classic on November 20. The Crimson will head to Las Vegas for the Cliff Keen Invite for its final pre-winter break meet December 2-3.

Following the break, Harvard will trek to Evanston, Illinois to compete in the Midlands meet December 29-30, and will then travel to the Franklin and Marshall Open January 7. The squad will compete at the Pitt Duals on January 14, where it won two duals meets a year ago.

The Crimson opens its home slate January 21 with EIWA contests against Franklin and Marshall and Bucknell before opening the Ivy slate with Columbia and Cornell at the Malkin Athletic Center January 28. All four contests will be broadcast on the Ivy League Digital Network.

Harvard travels to Penn and Princeton for Ivy action February 4, and Brown visits Cambridge to close the Ancient Eight schedule on February 10. Harvard took third in the Ivy League a year ago.

Hitting the road for one last head-to-head meet, Harvard faces Hofstra on February 17 in its final tune-up before the EIWA Championships, hosted by Bucknell March 4-5. The Crimson finished ninth in 2016, led by NCAA qualifiers Todd Preston '16, Devin Gobbo '16 and rising junior Josef Johnson.

The 2017 NCAA Championships will be held March 16-18 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
