CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After a week off preparing for what's ahead, the Harvard Track and Field team is back in action this weekend, competing at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships Feb. 29-March 1. The meet is set to take place in Ithaca, N.Y., and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Men's and women's events will be contested on both days of the meet. All of the trials and semifinals for the track events will be run on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., while the final events are slated for Sunday. In the field events, the men's and women's weight throw, long jump and pole vault will be contested on Saturday, while the Crimson will battle in the men's and women's high jump, triple jump, and shot put on Sunday. Sunday's events have an 11 a.m. start time.

What to Know
- Senior Kieran Tuntivate broke the Harvard men's mile all-time record at the Valentine Invite on Feb. 15, crossing the finish line at 3:57.36. His time currently ranks fifth in the NCAA.
- The Crimson teams put together a strong performance in the 2018-19 Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships, winning 10 individual event titles and a relay victory in the men's 4x400m relay. The women's team placed second, while the men's team placed third.
- Harvard returns four runners on the men's team who took home individual titles in the 2018-19 Heps, while returning two women's runners.
- Juniors Abbe Goldstein (4:35.70) and Anna Juul (4:37.50) are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the Ivy League in the women's mile.
- Jovahn Williamson (47.29), Gregory Lapit (47.62) and Aaron Shirley (47.93) hold the top three times in the Ivy league in the 400m.
- Tuntivate (7:49.15) and senior Will Battershill (7:55.99) lead the Ivy League in the men's 3000m.
- Ryan Thrush leads the Ivy League in the 500m, running a career-best 1:02.60 at the Valentine Invite on Feb. 14-15.
